I completed my 500hr training in the fall with Citizen Yoga in Detroit. Part of the training included a deep dive into Ayurveda, an Indian form of medicine focused on diet and lifestyle to promote overall health and wellbeing. It. Is. Fascinating. I am by no means an expert, but I am working with an expert to learn more and improve my own health. While I’m generally healthy, I was experiencing pretty big energy spikes throughout the day and have a history of anxiety and depression. I also run pretty cold and have poor circulation in my fingers and toes which worsens in winter months.
One of the dietary things that my Ayurveda specialist suggested to me is regularly drinking bone broth. This is not a joke. She suggested pouring bone broth into a coffee cup and then heating it up for a couple minutes for a cozy afternoon pick me up! The broth energizes and warms you from the inside out, while packing some serious health benefits with every sip. It's actually pretty tasty and has become a really nourishing afternoon ritual for me.

I'm working on perfecting my own recipe, so look out for a follow-up post on this coming soon!
Note: I am not a doctor or licensed Ayurveda specialist, I am simply sharing here what is working for me :-)
